Position Description

It's up to you to ensure well presented dishes get to the correct table at just the right time and at the perfect temperature; making your role KEY to our guests' experience! Happiest in motion, you thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Juggling tasks is first nature. You have a great sense of timing, sharp eye for detail, and a passion for getting it right. You understand that, as the last person to see a dish before serving, your contribution can win the day, leading to happy, returning guests and revenue boosting buzz in social media and dining reviews. If you're up for a challenge, a Restaurant Runner position with Interstate may be a great opportunity.

As Restaurant Runner, you will


  • Facilitate prompt, correct food assembly from kitchen line to table, ensuring optimal guest experience. Translate orders and quickly allocate to kitchen and service staff, for well-timed prep and delivery.

  • Ensure prompt delivery to guests, making sure well presented dishes arrive at the designated time and ideal temperature. Check completed orders for accuracy and presentation, adding finishing touches.

  • Deliver focused guest care. Ensure clear, accurate communications between service staff and cooks, respond graciously and promptly to guest needs and comments, pitch in to help kitchen and service teammates, when needs arise.

  • Ensure proper condiment and garnishment set-up and storage for optimal guest experience and food safety.

Fundamentals

Prior restaurant experience is helpful. The ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English is required to be able to read orders and communicate with the kitchen, servers and guests. This position requires full mobility and continuous standing, regularly lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds at a fast pace.
