The purpose of the Food Runner is to maintain buffet cleanliness and appearance standards.
Essential Job Functions
Must be able to work in a fast paced and customer service oriented environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner; to work as a part of a team as well as complete assignments independently; to take instructions from Manager; to exercise problem solving skills and to interact with co-workers, Managers, guests and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Cooperation is expected when any extra duties are assigned.
Be familiar with equipment and its location.
Remove food or debris from glass sneeze guards, countertops and serving utensils when necessary.
Sanitize buffet countertops and sneeze guards.
Ensure all food items are labeled correctly.
Work with department trainer to understand basic food knowledge (i.e. salad dressings toppings, frits, vegetables, entrees, cakes and pies)
Polish silverware, fold napkins, or make rollups or setups as required.
Help ensure back of the house cleanliness by keeping countertops sanitized and clear of debris.
Sweep and mop buffet floors as directed.
Follows sanitation and safety procedures with regard to handling food and serving food.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and monitor those actions of others.
Awareness of hotel functions, and special events.
Help maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant
High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
