New San Marcos Hotel
This new property is accepting applications for a seasoned F&B Manager to take charge and establish the F&B program at this Upscale San Marcos Property.
Responsible for all Food & Beverage operations, including restaurant, bar, room service and banquets. Manage the restaurant & catering menus, staff, and overall operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Skilled in recruiting, hiring, training with ongoing staff development as well as disciplinary / corrective actions as needed up to an including terminations.
Ability to coordinate with Director of Sales with Group Sales and Catering
Continually improves restaurant and adheres to Franchise standards
Ability to direct and oversee proper meeting room set up including any AV or food service
Insures restaurant is meeting or exceeding brand standards.
Ability to create checklists and procedures for opening, closing, and day to day operations
Works with Director of Sales to promote meeting space and events
Ability to appropriately deal and resolve guest issues before, during and after guest functions.
Directs restaurant staff to meet food safety regulations and guidelines
Located inside the Hotel, the Food Service Operation is open to the guests / public from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week.
Ability to create a culture of genuine hospitality throughout Food & Beverage department.
Gives personal attention and able to lead by example by displaying great customer service
Ability to calmly and professionally resolve guest issues
Ability to follow through and remedy what might have caused initial guest concerns
Leads and stands out as a professional in all aspects of Food & Beverage Management
Ability to recognize when a guest is NOT satisfied and uses their best judgment as to how to remedy the guest issue.
Performs other duties as required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality
Minimum of 3 years restaurant management experience
Hotel restaurant experience a preferred
High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to cost out catering menus
Knowledgeable and able to complete all F&B inventory procedures
Collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal liquor laws and regulations
Must have TABC certification as well as Food Handlers certification
Must have CPR certification
Basic computer skills in Outlook, excel, word, publisher, and other hospitality based systems
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and push or pull up to 75 pounds
