Job Description

 

We are searching for a Food & Beverage Manager for the 161 room Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Airport Hotel. Our ideal candidate is an energetic, innovative individual who has a desire to work in a result-driven environment and enjoys a hand on Leadership approach. You will be primarily responsible for all Food & Beverage operations for the property: dining room and social programs as well as Banquet and Catering for approximately 1,500 square feet of space. This will include the hands-on management of the Food &Beverage servers, bartenders and banquet staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the Food and Beverage Operations of the hotel including a full-service restaurant, breakfast room, evening lounge services, pantry retail and banquets
  • Take Lead role in communicating client expectations and work effectively to ensure product and service delivery standards are met
  • Assess client needs and conduct post event follow-up to: address strengths and weakness of an event and solicit repeat business
  • Coordinate services for events such as accommodations, transportation, conference facilities, audio visual equipment, etc.
  • Food & Beverage staff recruitment as needed, including onboarding and training
  • Scheduling of Food & Beverage service team: servers; bartenders and banquet staff to ensure adequate coverage
  • Responsible for the beverage inventory, purchasing/ordering from vendors and controlling inventory
  • Assess competitive elements within local market and share all findings with the Leadership Team
  • Respond to any telephone and written inquiries, leads, reservations etc. within 4 hours of generation
  • Promote the hotel when opportunity presents itself; active in community affairs and associations that contribute to the support of the hotel profile in the market place; Maintaining a high level of personal and community contacts
  • Support sales when needed by preparing proposals and bid on potential business in a timely manner
  • Conduct client site inspections and engage other relevant team members and provide feedback

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of Food & Beverage supervisory experience including banquets
  • Knowledge in reading and creating Banquet Event Work orders
  • Post-secondary education in sales or equivalent an asset
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Group Booking systems, Internet, email, etc.)
  • Highly energetic, aggressive self-starter
  • Commitment to superior customer service
  • Works well under pressure
  • Knowledge of Liquor Laws and safe serving practices
