Job Description:

“Leaders Creating Leaders” is a core value of Omni Hotels and Resorts and is a big part of the Omni success story. We are committed to growing careers and developing our Associates in a number of different ways. “Leaders in Development” is one way. It is Omni’s celebrated management trainee program. Our Leader in Development will embark upon a path designed to launch a career in hotel management. This position is a unique opportunity to combine practical work experience in a specific discipline with broad exposure to all areas of an upscale hotel operation.

The “LID” is an hourly, overtime-eligible position, working 50 hours per week. Our Associate will spend 40 hours per week performing a job function within their discipline (Accounts Receivable Clerk) and 10 hours per week (overtime) completing a wide range of self-directed “learning contracts”. The learning contracts include one-on-one sessions with key leaders throughout the hotel, practical assignments and “walk-in-my-shoes” rotations in every department, as well as focused assignments related to the their function. Hotel Mentors (senior leaders in the hotel) are assigned to assist LIDs in their growth and development. LIDs will also receive occasional exposure with corporate leaders.

The program is expected to last one year. At the successful conclusion of the program, participants are expected to move into a management position in the company, occasionally at their own property but often elsewhere in the country. Must be willing to relocate.

Accounts Receivable Clerk Overview: The A/R Clerk will ensure that our billing and collection process is efficient, effective and professional. He/she will review group accounts for accuracy, send billing statements to clients and handle billing inquiries for groups as well individuals.


* Daily handling and resolution of check out with balance accounts.
* Maintain neat and organized billing files.
* Insure that all billings go out with supporting backup for all charges.
* Audit all banquet charges as well as miscellaneous charges that are posted to master accounts for accuracy.
* Audit city ledger edit for correct information, proper billing address and phone number, complete backup, and correct city ledger number to run statements on a daily basis.
* Maintain a billing control log sheet for all billings, indicating the name, account number, and date billed.
* Daily account receivable transfer via computer to corporate accounting.
* Forward group advance deposits received by accounting to reservations for posting.
* Handle all guest inquiries in a timely, efficient manner.
* Handle correspondence and communication to customers, corporate office, as well as our owners regarding billing matters.
* Insure that all major accounts have received a follow-up call 10-20 days after the bills have been mailed.
* Maintain files for completed customer service work.
* Attend all pre-con meetings for special billing instructions.
* Maintain open communication with all departments.
* Work to resolve billing complaints/discrepancies and inquiries according to Omni standards
* Ensure that “aging” standards are maintained for all accounts – follow-up on diliquent accounts according to Omni standards
* Maintain FIT accounts and contacts
* Understand and implement Procedures for daily filing of reports, documenting billing research, and credit card research procedures
* Understand and implement procedures for Accounts Receivable research
* Understand the hotel’s “Hotel Information System” (HIS) and use it to effectively manage accounts
* Produce reports to aid in the billing/follow-up process
* Other duties as assigned


* Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or Finance (or directly related degree) is required
* Previous hotel (or related industry) experience is required
* Willingness and ability to work 50 hours per week is required
* Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English are required
* Ability to effectively utilize computer programs including Microsoft Office is required
* Demonstrated initiative – must be a self starter
* Demonstrated leadership abilities to include professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
* Ability to relocate is required
* Practical experience in Accounting / Finance is strongly preferred
* Demonstrated passion for the hotel and resort business is required
