1-Represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay by working with all hotel personnel to ensure every guest experiences superior customer care.
2-Responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, and ensuring the guests have a pleasant stay and smooth checkout. Job Duties:
3-Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
4-Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department.
5-Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary.
6-Knows cancelation procedures.
7-Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
8-Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.
9-Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms.
10-Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.
11-Uses persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
12-Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
13-Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
14-Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner
15-Processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions.
16-Maintains customers’ privacy.
17-Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.*Performs other duties as assigned.
1-High school diploma or equivalent.
2-Previous hotel-related experience required.
3-Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
4-Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
5-Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, check cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
6-Able to properly secure guest information.
7-Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures.
8-Skilled in the use of front office equipment.
9-Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette.
10-Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
