Our Location, Capitol Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Jefferson City, MO is looking for an enthusiastic applicant to join out team as an Executive Meeting Manager in our Sales Department.
The Executive Meeting Manager is part of the sales team focused on working with small groups.
This position works on all aspects of the sales process from receiving inquiry calls, booking
business, confirming details and working with the group while they are at the hotel. Excellent
communication, organization and hospitality skills are required for this position.
capture all profitable Rooms and Catering business in accordance with selective selling
collateral materials may include catering menus, brochures, meeting room layouts,
seating capacity diagrams, area maps and brochures.
outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier
partnerships, trade journals, etc.
room locations, handicap-accessible rooms, and room billing etc.
payment terms, available hotel services etc.
include meeting room set-up specifications, banquet food and beverage items,
audio/visual equipment and billing details.
including the banquet service staff, the culinary team and the rooms division staff.
activities. Top accounts should be contacted, visited, and entertained frequently.
on to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel and work extended
hours to achieve departmental goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s Degree or a Hospitality Degree, Business, Marketing, or related field. Minimum 1-
2 years’ experience in Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales, Marketing, or equivalent
education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, both written and oral. Ability to effectively present
information in one on one or small group situations to customers, clients, owners and other
associates of the organization.
Ability to investigate and analyze large amounts of data drawing conclusion on that data and
offering recommendations for improvement of hotel revenues. Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal
with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
