IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The Executive Housekeeper provides direction, guidance, support, leadership and training to the room attendants, public area attendants, house persons, laundry attendants, and housekeeping supervisors. The Executive Housekeeper will articulate the needs and help to ensure the housekeeping department achieves the company’s goals and demonstrate a commitment to these goals through work ethic, integrity, passion, and respect for the Company and its associates. The ideal candidate will have a sharp attention to detail, excellent communication skills and excel in professionalism. The ideal candidate enjoys providing our guests with clean and comfortable accommodations while delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and fellow associates.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff: hiring, terminations, performance evaluations, training, development, promotion or any other change of status of other associates. Schedule staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy.
* Assist General Manager in development of the department’s annual budget. Monitor performance against plan.
* Ensure compliance with all Atrium policies and procedures, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
* Maintain room quality based on hotel objectives. Monitors and maintains level of cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms and public areas.
* Compile and report accurate status of guest rooms to front office.
* Enforce standard procedures for the acceptance, security, and return on guest lost and found items.
* Maintain standard procedures for security of on-loan equipment.
* Maintain productivity and labor cost goals.
* Establish and maintain cost control systems for staffing linen inventories and cleaning supplies. Conduct inventories of linen, supplies and equipment. Order and receive supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
* Ensure quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and that guest relations are enhanced.
* Direct the work of associates, handle associate complaints and discipline associates.
* Appraise associates’ productivity and efficiency for purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
* Determine types of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment/tools used or merchandise to be bought and stocked.
* Control the flow and distribution of materials or merchandise and supplies.
* Provide for the safety and security of the employees or the property.
* Plan and control the budget.
* Assign work to Room Attendants and train personnel in housekeeping duties; may perform cleaning duties.
* Post room occupancy records.
* Adjust guests’ complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment.
* Write requisitions for room supplies and furniture renovation or replacements.
* Examine carpets, drapes and furniture for stains, damage, or wear.
* Check and count linens and supplies. Aid in budget control through supervision of employees’ use of linen, supplies and equipment.
* Record inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies.
* Effectively communicate with other hotel departments regarding problems which need their attention.
* Ensure key control policies.
* Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
