Excellent opportunity for an experienced veteran housekeeper to oversee the housekeeping department in a top conference hotel. The successful candidate will guide the staff in maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and top rate guest services to exceed guest expectations and surpass franchise standards. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter with strong leadership traits, excellent multi-tasking skills and possess great communication abilities.
Ensure that cleanliness and condition of all rooms and public areas meet designated hotel and franchise standards and the appropriate inspections are carried out on a consistent basis.
Take immediate actions on problems that are encountered in the Housekeeping Department. Immediately contact housekeeping personnel and relay any deficiencies that are to be corrected.
The Executive Housekeeper schedules, evaluates and directs all housekeeping personnel.
Counsel both housekeepers and inspectresses on any room status discrepancies that appear on the guest problem sheets.
Insures the inspecting of guest rooms, public areas and other outlets daily. The executive housekeeper inspects the work of the inspectresses to be certain the quality assurance standards are met.
Follow up to guarantee that routine deep cleaning projects are completed (i.e.., carpet shampooing, buffing, high vacuuming , etc).
The Executive Housekeeper participates in the following: monthly department training meetings; weekly executive meeting; weekly rooms division meeting; safety meetings, green meetings, etc.
Conduct daily line ups as well as housekeeping departmental meetings.
Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with shift supervisors.
Work collaboratively with all members of the housekeeping team to continually enhance and advance the department.
Maintains excellent communication with the front office and rooms division manager.
Ensure that staffing level requirements are met in all job categories of the housekeeping department.
Ensure the housekeeping supervisors and staff are properly trained to standards and able to carry out the operations of each function of the department.
Oversee system to promptly report all maintenance problems within area of responsibility. Follow up on the repairs.
Ensure that an accurate inventory of guest room amenities, cleaning supplies and laundry supplies is completed on a weekly basis and a linen inventory on the last day of the month.
The Executive Housekeeper prepares purchase orders and keeps a perpetual inventory of supplies needed to perform the functions of the department.
The Executive Housekeeper ensures the key issuance procedure is being followed on all keys to safeguard hotel and guest security.
Take responsibility for the hotel Lost and Found Department.
Responsible for staying within budget for payroll and expenses.
