Maintaining regular contact with the Chef and Management, as they will give advice and direction on tasks and priorities.
Cleaning the rooms of the house on a daily basis which includes:
Vacuuming; dusting polishing silver; cleaning brass; cleaning furniture (including upholstered furniture); care of art and antiquities; care of ceramics; cleaning crystal (experience required); cleaning windows; care of carpets; cleaning fireplaces; cleaning doors, architraving & skirting boards; mopping floors; waxing floors; moving and arranging furniture; and, turning mattresses.
Laundry and ironing of:
Fine clothing; linens; bedding; tablecloths; towels; and, repairs to clothing.
Waiting and catering duties include:
Setting the table for breakfast, lunch & dinner;
Making breakfast, lunch & dinner on the chef’s days off.
Serving at each meal and assisting the chef in the kitchen.
Cleaning the kitchen, washing glasses, china, cutlery and cooking utensils.
Floral arranging and potting house plants.
Complete morning service: making beds, ironing beds, opening curtains, removing clothing, checking & cleaning en-suite bathrooms, and checking bottled waters.
Complete night service: opening beds, checking pillows, preparing hot water bottles, closing curtains, cleaning en-suite bathrooms, and preparing medication.
Purchasing or ordering groceries and household supplies to keep kitchens stocked.
Packing duties include:
Packing and unpacking clothing, accessories and jewelery.
Collation and checking of photographic inventories of the items being sent and received.
Maintenance of photographic household and clothing inventories, to include: room set-up, table cloth inventory, crockery inventory, silver inventory, shooting inventory.
Equipment management duties include
Ensuring performance of technical systems including home cinema, computer networks, security systems, remote controlled fires and computerized heating system.
Possible occasional international travels.
Experience with Museum quality cleaning and care for delicate surface, fine art, etc. is an asset.
Strong English communication skills, verbal and written.
Must be able to provide high quality services in a professional, courteous and accommodating manner to the principals, guests, co-workers and outside service providers.
Flexible scheduling with availability to work evenings, weekends and travel, as needed.
Professional, polished, and discreet, maintain confidentiality at all times.
Energetic with a strong work ethic, strong communication skills and ability to anticipate needs of the employers and guests.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Ability to multitasking, work under pressure and handle last minute changes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
