The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Salt Lake City is looking for a customer focused Evening Social Attendant to prepare food and present it to the customer in a friendly and customer service oriented manner.The evening social attendant will  maintain the food service area inclusive of stocking, cleaning, and prepping the area prior to the start of the social.

Responsibilities:
  • Must have or acquire a Salt Lake County food handler’s permit prior to starting work.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Listen, understand and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications 

Education 
  • High School diploma or equivalent 

Knowledge and skills 
  • Organizational Skills.  
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Ability to give high priority to customer service. 
  • Solve problems with a minimum of supervision. 
  • Read, write and understand English. 
  • Basic office skills helpful including basic math, proper cash handling procedures. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. 
  • People oriented and able to work independently or with others as needed. 

Technical Skills 
• Basic knowledge of inventory and rotation of food 

Job experience 
• 6 months to 1 year of food service experience preferred or 
• 1 year of customer service experience in service or retail environment
