Job Description:

To promote Omni Amelia Island Plantation's unique natural environment to our resort guests, club members and the surrounding community.

Responsibilities:

* Lead nature tours, day excursions, kayaking tours, paddle-boarding tours, corporate tours and other off property events.
* Knowledge of ecology, flora, and fauna of a coastal marine environment and maritime forest environment.
* Perform animal rescues (birds, reptiles, mammals), rehabilitate and release rescues including feeding, cleaning, etc.
* To assist and perform in the care and cleaning of exhibits, including but not limited to snakes, turtles, salt and freshwater aqariums, birds, and small mammals.
* Will develop, plan, implement and lead interpretive, educational programs and displays.
* Must be able to work with children and families.
* Responsible for maintaining the facilities to include retail, office area and exhibits.
* Will handle cash, conduct inventory, stock products and assist with retail displays.
* Will be responsible for opening and closing duties of Nature Center.

Qualifications:

* Currently pursuing degree in related field - Biology, Animal Science, Environmental Studies
* Able to lift and lift up to 60-100 pounds occasionally and 30-50 pounds repeatedly.
* Able to swim, stoop, stand, push, pull and walk or stand for long periods of time
* Must be able to hear, smell, have good or corrected vision and a good sense of balance
* Associate must be able to walk throughout property, communicate verbally to our guests and able to multi task effectively.
* Interested in outdoor activities.
* Exposure to elements including heat and rain.
