Summary: 

Responsible for repair and maintenance of all physical facilities (both interior and exterior) throughout the hotel property. Responsible for basic Engineering and hotel maintenance including: electrical, plumbing,HVAC,painting,drywall repairs, lock repairs, and life safety.

Essential Duties / Tasks / Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Must be able to work varied shifts

  2. Analyze basic HVAC problems and make basic repairs.

  3. Be able to use drain cleaning equipment.

  4. Repair and replace plumbing piping and perform basic plumbing repairs.

  5. Perform guest room preventive maintenance.

  6. Ability to handle guest room calls and problems.Responds to the call within 10 minutes and follows up with originating department when complete.

  7. .Ability to communicate effectively with our guests and exemplify GUEST Service Standards.

  8. Successfully completes all mandated compliance training and reviews all departmental safety information; MSD sheets, and knows locations of all emergency response equipment.Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards, react and assist in any hotel emergency.

Experience / Education / Certifications:

  1. HS Diploma/ GED

  2. Basic understanding of the Internet

  3. Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel/Spreadsheet software; Microsoft word; Outlook, etc.)

  4. Basic Math ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  5. Current driver’s license

  6. Flexibility to work all shifts including overnight if needed

  7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problem involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  8. Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers or employees of organization.

  9. CPO Certification – preferred but not required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSA’s)

Painting and drywall repair experience

Basic Plumbing (drain cleaning, repairing pipe leaks installing fixtures)

Electrical (analyze electrical problem and make repairs or refer to Chief Engineer for Contractor consideration).

Analyze HVAC problems and make repairs.

Understand Life Safety systems

Wet or humid conditions

Outdoor weather conditions

May be required to work in high-traffic public areas of the hotel

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
