Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the VP of Marketing, the Director of eCommerce is responsible for leading a team of six or more eCommerce managers and coordinators, as well as completing assigned projects and activities relating to the day-to-day implementation of online/digital marketing strategies created to drive hotel revenue for a set portfolio of hotels and resorts.

Requirements & Duties
• Ongoing training, development and leadership of California based eCommerce team
• Conduct team performance reviews
• Responsible for eCommerce team efforts as a whole and ensuring managers receive proper support when needed
• Drive overall team direction for continued growth to drive revenue for all hotels
• Work closely with Marketing and Creative Directors to maintain and develop strategies for success and synergy
• Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to digital marketing
• Coordinating special projects as needed
• Updating and improving the eCommerce signature standards
• Providing assistance to other members of the team

Website Development & Maintenance
• General oversite and development of websites, e-mail campaigns, and implementing website tracking
• Maintaining and updating websites as needed, including photos and online listings
• Researching and integrating new services, technologies and tools to increase online traffic and revenue
• Assist with and drive all SEO efforts
• Implementing digital campaign strategies as they relate to hospitality
• Creating/strengthening keyword optimization in online copy and content

Strategy & Analysis
• Take the lead on capturing, reporting and analyzing online statistics
• Working closely with Marketing and eCommerce in establishing and maintaining strategies for online success
• Communicating efforts to the field in a regular, easy to follow manner
• Coordinating electronic marketing efforts: electronic direct mail, banner ads, PPC, SEM, viral efforts
• Assisting with the research and analysis of our portfolios’ current online marketing presence and developing efforts to improve organic reach and drive overall revenue
• Assist with growing relationship with franchise partners and using available franchise opportunities to increase online reservations

Client Management
• Communicate with key hotel managers on a quarterly bases to review performance, new strategies and task list
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with hotel managers, Brand support teams and outside digital vendors
• Assure key deliverables for ecommerce and actions items are met for hotels and corporate staff
• Conduct training of hotel staff and corporate team on new eCommerce strategies, tools and tactics
• Conducting business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with their products and services
• Generate reporting for portfolio of accounts for owners and stakeholders
• Some travel and attending meetings with hotels for pre-opening, rebrand and strategy as needed

Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in digital marketing within the hotel industry
1-2 years of leadership experience
3+ years of experience in Google AdWords, Analytics, webmaster tools, remarketing
General understanding of coding in HTML, CSS and/or PHP
Ability to analyze and report out results for web statistics and advertising ROI
Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle a variety of projects

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a college or combination of education, training or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this position’s job duties.

Must be hospitality oriented and possess the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain comprehensive and cohesive records
Quick learner and efficient worker, ability to juggle a variety of projects
Good sense of design and ability to conceptualize requested projects
Good communicator, both written and orally
Ability to liaise with internal departments to ensure client needs are fulfilled effectively
Project development and creation of strategic web sales plans
Collaborate and manage creation of artwork and design that apply to ecommerce
Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in using MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook to include graphs, tables and other spreadsheet functions
Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation, office practices and procedures
Ability to write and communicate in a professional manner
