The Director of Revenue Management will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and optimizing strategies and controls that drive revenue and market share performance for a specific hotel.

What will I be doing?

The Director of Revenue Management will develop, monitor and adjust inventory management strategies. The Team Member will work with the General Manager, Director of Sales and other department heads to develop, monitor and adjust guest room and meeting space inventory strategies for all business segments and distribution channels. The Director of Revenue Management will be responsible for the daily review and adjustment of guest room inventory controls in all systems for all business segments and distribution channels, being sure to communicate findings and recommendations with the hotel and regional support teams as appropriate.

Other key priorities are listed below:

* Daily interaction with appropriate Team Members to discuss inventory strategies, controls and performance
* Use of all appropriate systems, tools, reports, processes and other resources to develop, monitor and optimize inventory strategies
* Lead weekly commercial focus (RevMax) meeting, where inventory management strategies and performance are discussed
* Attend weekly group-pick-up and group lead review meetings to lead inventory management decisions
* Communicate strategy, risks and opportunities with all commercial teams to optimize demand generation and conversion efforts
* Develop, monitor and adjust pricing strategies
* Work with the General Manager, Director of Sales and other department heads to develop, monitor and adjust guest room and meeting space pricing strategies for all business segments and distribution channels
* Responsible for the daily review and adjustment of pricing controls in all systems for all business segments and distribution channels
* Communicate findings and recommendations with the hotel and regional support teams as appropriate
* Use of all appropriate systems, tools, reports, processes and other resources to develop, monitor and optimize pricing strategies
* Lead weekly commercial focus (RevMax) meeting, where pricing strategies and performance are discussed
* Attend weekly group-pick-up and group lead review meetings to lead pricing decisions
* Work with Front Office and Reservation teams to ensure upsell and other revenue efforts are appropriate
* Communicate strategy, risks and opportunities with all commercial teams to optimize demand generation and conversion efforts
* Provide critical analysis of strategies, revenue statistics and demand factors
* Monitor all aspects of the hotel's revenue and market share performance
* Conduct performance analysis of implemented strategies
* Communicate findings, recommendations and strategy changes with the hotel's commercial team and regional support teams as appropriate
* Analyze past and present trends and make recommendations and adjustments to future strategies
* Use of all appropriate systems, tools, reports, processes and other resources to identify opportunities and risks
* Appropriately communicate findings and provide necessary action, direction and support to leverage opportunities or minimize risks
* Provide all reporting and communication needed to ensure understanding and consensus needed across all relevant departments and regional support teams
* Responsible for revenue forecast preparation and updates according to demand statistics, pricing strategy, commercial efforts and performance expectations
* Work with all appropriate Team Members to ensure all Sales and Event Managers are trained on forecasting concepts and processes
* Communicate risks and opportunities with the hotel's commercial team to optimize demand generation and conversion efforts
* Communicate with hotel Sales team and third party market managers to gauge fluctuation in market demand and ensure that the hotels commercial strategies are competitive
* Use of all appropriate systems, tools, reports, processes and other resources to monitor market demand and market share performance
* Appropriately communicate findings and provide necessary action, direction and support to leverage opportunities or minimize risk
* Review market intelligence information to assess competitive environment and make necessary adjustments to the hotel's commercial strategy
* Communicate with other Hilton Revenue Management Team Members in similar markets and regional support teams to keep abreast of relevant trends and best practices
* Oversee the activities and development of Revenue Management Team Members at the hotel
* Complete ad-hoc tasks associated with revenue and market share performance or optimization as requested by the General Manager, regional support teams, owners, or as needed
* Perform duties of other Revenue Management Team Members when needed
* Provide training to other hotel Team Members on revenue management concepts and procedures, as needed
* Ensure that all revenue statistics reports, including the Financial Statement, and any other related reports are accurate and consistent
* Ensure that all revenue management related systems are maintained
* Employ the assistance of the other Team Members as needed
* Participate and contribute in discussions associated with demand generation or conversion efforts
* Maintain an organized and clean work area and hotel environment
* All interactions with Hilton Team members, clients and partners should occur in a courteous manner

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • High School Degree/GED
  • A minimum of four (4) years of Hotel Revenue Management experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of Managerial experience
  • Ability to direct and motivate a team
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Working in the travel industry in marketing research, revenue analysis and/or revenue management
  • Strong experience in Hospitality forecasting, pricing and inventory control
  • Ability to travel as needed

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working in a hotel revenue management system such as OnQ revenue management; OnQ forecast management, OnQ rate and inventory, OnQ property management, Delphi, and/or our Company revenue management toolkit
  • Experience working in a Full Service hotel with 350+ rooms
  • Resort experience
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel, creating complex workbooks including the use of macros, visual basic, pivot tables and compound intricate formulas
