The Accomplish More Director (Director of Sales) develops and implements the total sales and marketing strategy of the hotel to ensure that revenue and room night sales goals are achieved; revenue, sales and marketing strategies are set; tactical plans are created, implemented, and that results are monitored and achieved. The Director of Sales is a ‘hands-on” manager, actively involved on a daily basis in securing, qualifying and following up on leads to book specific business. Manages all areas of sales according to Brand standards to achieve a professional rapport with the local business community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCIAL RETURNS:
• Contributes to the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget; prepares monthly sales reports for regional, brand, and ownership review including expenses and plans to make budget.
• Develops and communicates monthly forecasts including strategies and plans to achieve forecasted and budgeted revenues.
• Establishes and monitors account plans and goals to achieve the hotel’s sales and revenue objectives.
• Develops short-, medium- and long-term revenue management strategies for all revenue sources, channels, and segments.
• Optimizes channel management strategies to drive revenue while reducing channel costs, and recommends the right business from the right channels and markets to ensure hotel profitability
• Completes business cases and manages the RFP process for the hotel.
• Identifies additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue in partnership with other department heads.
• Drives promotions that deliver great experiences for our guests.
• Collaborates with IHG functional and brand teams to implement strategies and to provide input and feedback based on guest concerns, sales opportunities, implementations, and related issues to the brand.
• Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business which includes room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet.
• Analyzes the productivity of the sales organization and recommends adjustments to staffing, quotas, commissions and resources in order to maximize results.
• Develops, manages and monitors the hotel’s sales strategies and plans to outperform competitors and steal market share from existing and prospective accounts.
• Monitors and revises hotel sales plan which includes key account plans, target account plans, and segment strategies on a regular basis.
• Develops tactical marketing plans for base protection, competitive threats, growth, and market development.
• Schedules conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinates with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

• Attracts and hires people with the right attributes to bring the EVEN Hotels brand to life and achieve sales objectives.
• Actively promotes employee participation in the Employee Satisfaction Pulse Survey (ESPS) and achieves established ESPS targets.
• Drives high team performance and achievement of sales goals and objectives by establishing clear performance goals and expectations, and being actively involved in direct reports’ performance and development through direct feedback, coaching and training.
• Inspires the team by living the brand, embracing holistic wellness, keeping in tune with the latest in information on health and nutrition, and encouraging them to do the same.
• Ensures the team is properly trained and provided the tools and equipment needed, and directs them to resources to learn more about health, wellness and nutrition.
• Shares own wellness journey with team and guests, and encourages the team to do the same.
• Embraces the “T” through leveraging the skills of the team and business partners to improve the guest experience and gain support and involvement in sales initiatives.
• Grows the team and talent pipeline for succession planning.
• Advises team of formal policies and procedures.

GUEST EXPERIENCE:
• Demonstrates Brandhearted leadership by putting the brand at the center of all business decisions.
• Interacts daily with guests in ways that brings the brand to life.
• Serves as Brand Champion to the hotel by communicating passion for the brand, making decisions in light of brand standards and serves as role model for branded guest experience.
• Localizes and executes brand sales and marketing programs, social media presence, campaigns, policies and resources in order to maximize sales and the productivity of each sales channel.
• Scans local area market to develop and adjust sales strategies, develop sales opportunities, identify new demand generators, learn about competitors and prospective guests, etc. [Localize marketing strategy/prospecting]
• Builds loyal client partnerships by hosting client receptions, debrief meetings, etc.
• Regularly seeks and uses guest feedback to build relationships with guests, and drives continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
• Ensures that special needs and requests of guests, VIPs, and IHG Rewards Club Members are fulfilled.
• Lead others in scheduled fitness activities such as jogging, stretching, and aerobics two or more times per month.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:
• Serves as the primary public relations representative of the hotel and brand champion to the travel, tourism, corporate travel professionals, travel industry associations and events to promote and drive business to the hotel.
• Maintains Green Engage initiatives in assigned work area.
• Develops and maintains good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attends out-of-town conventions and trade shows to promote new business and increase sales for the hotel (e.g., Tourism Board/CVB, Chamber of Commerce, etc.).
• In coordination with General Manager, serve as hotel representative for media related inquiries and refers sensitive matters to the corporate Public Relations Department if necessary.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing or related field
• 5 years successful experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Eligible to work in the USA
• Valid driver’s license
• Must speak fluent English
• Flexible work schedule

Preferred:
• Bilingual, Spanish
• Demonstrated recent, regular participation in wellness, sports, fitness or similar activities a plus

Other:
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others
• Demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties in a way that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training
• Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
• Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Frequently standing up or moving within and outside of the facility
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds
• Travel to attend meetings or training, often requiring to drive
