Position Summary

Loews Vanderbilt Hotel is seeking a Director of Rooms to join our team. Loews Vanderbilt Hotel is a Four-Diamond hotel, luxury 340-room hotel with 25,000 square feet of meeting/function space, and Mason Restaurant and Mason's Bar. The Director of Rooms oversees the planning, organizing, leading and controlling of all aspects of the Rooms Division. The Director of Rooms is responsible for ensuring the operation of Guest Services, Concierge and Housekeeping, Laundry, Security, and Communications in an attentive, friendly, efficient and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service and developing managers and team members.This position works in tandem with the Rooms Division Managers to maximize revenue, profits and guest and team member satisfaction and to maintain the safety, sanitation, cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel and its equipment.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience

-Bachelors degree or higher in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field
-Five years of progressive management experience in a large, up-scale hotel environment with emphasis on Rooms Division management
-Specific knowledge and experience in Reservations, Front Office operations, Guest Service/Concierge functions, Valet Parking, Housekeeping/Laundry and Security
-Specific knowledge and experience with computer systems to include Reservations(Opera system) Property Management Systems(HIS) and advanced PC skills
-Ability to develop and maintain effective operating and control processes designed to attain maximum operating efficiency whiel ensuring adherence to established guest service criteria
-Strong management, leadership, organizational and communication skills
-Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
