The Director of Resort Programming is responsible for managing the resort's recreation program: including three beachfront swimming pools, two whirlpools, beach, beach front cabanas, fire pit, volleyball courts, game room and fitness center. Also works in conjunction with resort's Sales and Events team to ensure positive and memorable guest experiences. Includes hiring, training and supervision of staff.

The ideal candidate will be passionate, innovative and creative with an attention to detail and ability to deliver the highest standards to our guests and members. The individual will also be responsible for hands-on training of staff and for implementing new activities while creating an unsurpassed recreational experience for our guests and members.

Essential Functions:


* Create, design and promote guest recreation packages and special membership promotions and packages
* Research, develop, recommend and implement department products, programs and services
* Correspond with vendors to organize and facilitate requested activities
* Recruit, train, develop and ensure certification for all recreation staff
* Create recreation budget, forecast and control expenses
* Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
* Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities.
* Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members.
* Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency.
* Ensure infants and children are well supervised in a safe, secure environment and compliance with all applicable child care laws
* Ensure all activities are performed in a safe manner and all safety procedures are followed

Qualifications


* Previous experience developing and managing a variety of recreation attractions
* Advanced knowledge in industry programs and practices
* Previous recreation supervisory experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Industry certification a plus
