DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Job Description:
As Director of Human Resources, of THE Draftsman you will be creating an original voice and vision Exactly like Nothing Else! With this new hotel in Charlottesville, VA you will be entering into the 'Live Experience Business' and connecting the dots between the hotel and the surrounding area for all of your customers through your service team.

This position requires experience in all phases of human resources including but not limited to maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Prior Hotel Experience in a Full Service Hotel, Lifestyle Hotel, Boutique, and/or Resort Hotel is preferred. Prior Marriott experience would help any candidate.

Director of Human Resources Job Duties:

Maintains hotel’s staff by recruiting, interviewing and on boarding potential candidates for new hire.

Prepares employees for guest interaction by conducting new hire orientation and brand specific training.

Maintain the electronic employment files with written records of agreements between the hotel and the employee including: personnel files, offer letters, and other employee related items.

Updated the Human Resource Information Database with the most current employee information to be used in processing payroll.

Prepare and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis.

Manage the performance/probationary review process and annual review process.

Helping resolve employment issues by listening and providing guidance to both supervisor and employee regarding hotel policy and procedures. Conduct investigations when appropriate.

Communicate employee benefit programs in an engaging and helpful manner. Ensure employees are properly enrolled in the programs of their choice.

Ensures compliance with applicable human resource laws and file government reports as required.
Contributes to team effort by participating in daily huddles as well as all associate gatherings and team-building events.


Education and Experience:

Minimum 3 years HR or related experience or a Bachelors and 2 years’ experience.

Hospitality experience preferred.
