Job Description


The Corporate Accounting Manager is a member of the finance and accounting team and reports to the VP of Finance, with responsibility for oversight of all accounting and financial reporting functions. The Corporate Accounting Manager has a highly visible role while leading and directing a team of five accountants.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage, monitor and review the month end accounting close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
  • Analyze and review the month end consolidation and the monthly management reports for accuracy
  • Monitor and review for accuracy the general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements for all entities
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Coordinate with auditors for the year-end financial statement review
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual tax return with third party preparer
  • Determine accounting policies and procedures by researching and interpreting accounting guidance
  • Communicate with co-workers and management in a courteous and professional manner

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting and 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a must
  • Must have experience managing a team
  • Big Four or National Firm accounting experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience in consolidated financial reporting
  • Hotel accounting experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Uniform Systems of Accounts for the Lodging Industry is a plus
  • Conscientious and able to work independently with minimal direction from manager
  • Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Great Plains, ADP, FRX, Jet Reporting and Profit Sword is a plus
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Detail oriented and organized
