The Culinary Department ensures that all food and beverage functions both in the hotel and at outside venues are flawless in execution from the culinary perspective, and are an integral part of ensuring complete customer satisfaction whether catering to groups of 8 or 800.
The Cook will work in the pastry department and other areas of the Culinary Department as assigned (garde manger, line, banquets). He/she will take pride in the preparation and presentation of all food to ensure complete customer satisfaction. He/she wil be innovative, creative and a multi tasker with good communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Must be able to physically handle knives, pots, food products and dispaly items and grasp, lift and carry same from shelves and transport up to 50lbs to various areas of the kitchen. Will be responsible to operate all relevant machinery and equipment and ensure cleanliness of food service area and equipment.
The successful candidate will posses the following:-: - Minimum of 4 years related work experience which would include a minimum of 3 years in pastry. - Sanitation code accreditation. - Working knowledge of operating kitchen equipment. - Able to handle a physical workload. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to work with tight deadlines and maintain professionalism. - Able to work varible shifts which would include evenings, weekends and holidays.
