We are looking for a highly motivated Controller to join our team at The Mosaic and Maison 140 in Beverly Hills. Maison 140 began its historic life as the home of Hollywood actresses Lillian and Dorothy Gish. A Kelly Wearstler designed hotel in Beverly Hills, Maison 140 evokes modern, and well appointed. Position Description & Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate would understand how to direct the daily, weekly and monthly reporting process in compliance with Management and Ownership requirements as well as how to develop accurate and timely forecasts including labor management along with other departments.  The candidate would have solid training in all areas of Accounting from A/P, A/R, General Ledger, Credit, Collections, Audit, Inventory control, Payroll, Budgeting, Costing, P&L preparation and analysis. While implementing and overseeing tight financial controls throughout the property the Controller would assume an executive level position with responsibility and accountability for financial reporting to Ownership and Management Company.  In addition, the Controller would schedule and conduct the annual audit as well as develop the annual budget procedures and guidelines. An understanding of local, state, and federal laws as well as risk management including various types of insurance are key to this position. As Controller you will maintain direct control of costs and expenses in all areas and oversee financial training of all management.  In addition, operational focus will include working closely with Front Office, Reservations, Sales, and F&B Department to assist them in identifying optimum ways to drive revenues while balancing market segments and delivering flawless service to one another and our guests.


Job Requirements

Formal Education and Job Related Requirements

Our preference would be that the candidate would have previous boutique, luxury hotel experience in a property of similar size and quality.  In addition, we would like the candidate to have an BA/BS 4-5-year degree or foreign equivalent education with a specific degree in Accounting or Finance.  MBA/CPA/CHAE certifications are desirable. The candidate should possess at least five years' experience in hospitality in a Hotel/Resort Controller role.  Must possess effective communications skills.

This position requires the employee to engage in Frequent Sitting, Fine Motor Skills, Eye/Hand Coordination, Near Vision, Far Vision, and Hearing. Further, the position requires Occasional Standing and Walking.
