Job Description

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Antonio Airport is located on the north side of San Antonio and only half a mile from the San Antonio International Airport (SAT), the largest shopping mall in San Antonio, North Star Mall and just 15 minutes away from the famous San Antonio River Walk.

The Controller is responsible for managing the overall operations of the accounting department and the preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, general ledger analysis, assistance in internal auditing and budgeting processes, and contributing to process improvements. Duties include, but not limited to:
• Preparation of monthly financial statements
• Preparation of month-end and year-end closing entries
• Posting of activity to the general ledger, including monthly accruals
• Research and correct account discrepancies
• Account analysis and reconciliation, to include bank statements, inter-company general ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts
• Evaluation and maintenance of internal controls relating to hotel. This is to include validation of: supporting documentation, accuracy of information received completeness of transactions, maintenance of accounting records, and physical security of assets.
• Oversee payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, income audit and cashiering
• Participate in the annual budgeting process

Job Requirements

College degree preferred; at least 3 years progressively responsible hotel accounting experience required; Hilton On-Q property management system experience preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills, familiar with Oracle accounting. Computer knowledge beyond MS office is preferred.
