Chief Engineer
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Birmingham

This property is located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, AL, ideally situated in the city's vibrant Southside neighborhood. It's a great place to work! Only seven miles from Birmingham International Airport (BHM) and adjacent to the University of Alabama (UAB) campus, this property is only two blocks from the Five Points South Historic District, and within walking distance of seven hospitals including UAB Hospital, Kirklin Clinic and Children’s Health Systems. Our clients enjoy retreating to our spacious guest rooms which feature signature bedding, high-speed internet access and a large desk with an ergonomic chair—first-class service and a first-class staff. We are currently searching for a talented, experienced Chief Engineer for our Doubletree by Hilton Birmingham Hotel which boats 298 gust rooms and over 15,000 square feet of meeting sapce!

The Chief Engineer oversees all aspects of hotel maintenance, including public space, guest rooms, kitchen and outlets, hotel equipment, preventive-maintenance programs, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc. Position is involved in OSHA training and other compliance requirements, as well as life-safety systems and procedures.


Job Requirements

Must have previous Engineering management experience in an upscale, full-service hotel. Must have advanced working knowledge of all aspects of hotel maintenance. Strong technical skills in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. Familiar with chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatments, pool operation, pneumatics, control systems, water systems, boilers, refrigeration, compressors, etc.

A solid understanding of budgets, P&L and other reporting is essential.

Must be a self-motivated, inspiring leader to work side-by-side with his team on a daily basis.
