What will I be doing?

As a Financial Controller, you will lead and manage the finance team ensuring that accounting records and financial reports are in compliance with standards and play a key function in supporting the General Manager on financial and commercial matters. You will also provide periodic management reports on the financial performance of the Hotel.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

* Work with Heads of other functions and General Manager to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the hotel
* Overall management of the accounting records and financial reports of the hotel ensuring compliance with company, owner, statutory and fiscal requirements and timetables
* Support and advice on financial and commercial matters to the General Manager and to the hotel team, including the interpretation of financial data
* Build the financial awareness among members of the local management team
* Understand the requirements of the Internal Control Program (ICP) and SOX and ensure that the hotel is in compliance with both by liaise and co-operate with both Internal and External Audit
* Ensure all financial regulations are met, through the maintenance of adequate systems of internal control, and communicates any perceived weakness to the Management
* Maintain a focused system of internal controls, which will provide an effective and efficient control over hotel assets, liabilities, revenue and costs
* Ensure that adequate purchasing procedures are operated so that purchase of goods and services are made in the most efficient manner
* Assume responsibility for the safekeeping and updating of all leases and contracts which may affect the financial status of the hotel
* Training and development of local Finance staff i.e. succession planning

* Excellent analytical skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
