The ideal candidate will have experience with hotel sales experience and wedding planning experience
Books definite, verbal definite and tentative business in accordance with the selective sell guidelines to meet and exceed the monthly and annual catering sales budget.
Works with the Director of Sales & Marketing to create and maintain the required corporate mandates, in accordance with the annual budget and marketing plan.
Carry out the policies and procedures of the facility and Benchmark Hospitality while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork atmosphere as per standards of service.
Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
The flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand (open 7 day a week).
Works flexible hours (week-ends and extended eight (8) hour days).
Requires ability to sit for extended length of time and heavy use of phone.
Up sell goods and services of the facility.
Assesses and offers creative suggestions and recommendations to clients.
Solicitation of social and corporate catering functions in the facility and related community.
Handle inquiries for catered functions.
Maintenance of sales filing system on all group functions with detailed report to assist in the coordination process.
Ensuring that Banquet Event Orders are completed and distributed for all departments in a timely fashion.
Preparation of contracts status forms in their entirety and ensure accuracy of all bookings.
Interact with clients via telephone and tours in a professional and informative manner to give the client a strong comfort level so they bring their business to the facility.
Attend weekly Manager’s Meeting, Food & Beverage Meeting and presents operational concerns and supplies updated information to other managers on the property. Attends week Sales meeting and presents concerns and updated status report to tentative bookings, verbal definite and definite business.
Knowledge of the Delphi system in order to assure that space requested is available.
Primary liaison with Banquet and Culinary departments, supervision of the Catering department, conducting the weekly Catering meeting.
Completion of Performance Reviews.
Responsible for the overall tracing and collection of deposits.
Provide assistance in other job classifications as determined necessary by immediate superior.
Retrieval and maintenance of catering sales files.
Typing of letters and other correspondence as necessary.
Assisting with Catering Sales office phone coverage.
Environment: Sales & Marketing office, Conference Services.
