SUMMARY

To maximize sales in all catering and food and beverage related revenue sources by performing the following duties personally and utilizing all avenues of potential revenue.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Coordinate all social catering events to include booking in appropriate function space; organizing food and beverage for event, conduct taste testing’s when appropriate, discussing event with planner and ensuring the process from start to finish is done in an efficient, friendly, and professional manner.

 

Solicit business for social and wedding markets (new & repeat) based on established call & revenue goals.

 

Conduct site tours of the hotel.

 

Outside calls to wedding venues (i.e. Churches, Florists, Bakeries) for referral business.

 

Greet functions and introduce banquet manager to client.

 

Oversee maximization of all catering space by controlling function and establishing and enforcing space release guidelines.

 

Provide input on banquet services and menus to optimize guest experience.

 

Utilize Delphi for yield management of all function space and to monitor sales productivity.

 

Complete weekly and monthly call reports.

 

Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) program adhering to the schedule as and when required.

 

Attend weekly Operations Meeting and presents BEO's related to social events and weddings. 

 

Assist in preparation of set-up for social events and weddings with specialty personalized items.  Act as a liaison between the client and the operations team the evening of the event, to answer any questions or resolve any issues

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

2 + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
