Catering Sales Manager

Position Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Will handle any outlet event or catering event for the Loews Madison and outlets
  • Primary focus will be prospecting new business for both outlet and catering events
  • Composing sales proposals and seasonal marketing strategies for all markets
  • Maximizing revenue for small, short-term bookings
  • Completing a minimum of 5 outside sales calls a week
  • Selling, contracting and servicing all events
  • Attend 4 social events or networking events per quarter
  • Attend all off-site Rural Society functions
  • Attend all trade-shows with Catering Team throughout year
  • Produce BEO’s and event resumes for all events
  • Effectively communicate all details to operation teams for all events
  • Work with Restaurant GM, DOCCM and Chef de Cuisine to establish small event/meeting packages
  • Would handle all room service/hospitality events
  • Work with Restaurant GM, DOCCM and Chef de Cuisine to establish holiday and seasonal menus and packages
  • Would work with conference team to increase on-property outlet sales with all groups
  • Handle all billing arrangements for all events based on Loews standards and guidelines
  • Schedule and arrange for all site inspections for outlets and catering events
Required Skills and Experience

Ideal Candidate

  • Would have 6 months to a year experience in both catering and restaurant sales/servicing experience (both local and social catering)
  • Experience with Weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs
  • Knowledgeable and participates in social media
  • Has a strong knowledge of the DC and surrounding MD/VA market
  • Is proactive in sales approach and comfortable with cold calling
  • Is comfortable in competitive sales markets
  • Creative and can easily adapt to different markets and marketing plans
  • Knowledgeable of food and beverage/catering trends
  • Looking for the next step in catering sales or a hotel career
  • Delphi, Micros, Open Table, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint experience
  • «Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, when needed
  • «Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
  • *Must be able to push, stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
