The Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel seeks a dynamic and experienced catering sales manager to join our award winning sales team This property is considered among one of the top hotels in the Sheraton brand collection. With 396 guest rooms, newly renovated restaurants and outlets and over 20,000 square feet of meeting space, we are the premier hotel in downtown Oklahoma City

Job Overview Responsible for increasing catering revenue by solicitation of new accounts, maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts, specifically in the social and weddings market of the Oklahoma City area. Manage all accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.

Essential job functions
-Consistently performs the Hotels Company Standards of Service interact with guests, all hotel associates in a professional, gracious and friendly manner and ensures staff does the same, participates in the daily line-up, pre-convention meetings, and other catering related meetings as required.
-Solicits past and new business to ensure all catering goals are achieved and exceeded through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspection and written communication.
-Conduct property tours, promoting facilities and services with persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients and answering inquiries.
-Develop client menus, working closely with the food and beverage, culinary and banquet department.
-Draft contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to the event.
-Manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and productivity. Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts.
-Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings.
-Develops and maintains knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
-Assists with the day-to-day functions of Sales Catering Office while working effectively with Rooms, Catering, Conference Services and Banquet Departments to provide quality service to guests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have the ability to communicate in English, can communicate well with guests and co-workers.
Thorough knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
Self- starting personality with an even disposition.
Strong interpersonal skills, to assist client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction.
6 months-1 year sales experience, preferably in hospitality industry.

Additional Qualifications
3 years prior experience as a Catering Manager, preferably in a full service hotel
High school diploma along with two years education in an accredited college
Managerial experienceLeadership skills
Strong interpersonal verbal communication skills
Exceptional written communication skills

Physical Demands
Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
Able to sit for long periods of time.
