Job Description

This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications.  The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future.


The Greeter/Cashier will welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival to the restaurant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
  • Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
  • Relay messages to servers and busser as needed.
  • Understands and follows Westmont Hospitality Group cash handling policies and procedures and maintains proper security of cash at all times
  • Performs the tasks of the cashier and/or bus person as required including cashing our guests checks to speed up service
  • Removing of service items
  • Perform other duties in a team effort during downtime which may include expediting food orders, preparing food and properly cleaning and filling table condiments (salt & pepper, sugar, ketchup and mustard bottles)
  • Thank guest as they leave and invite them to return
  • Responds to all guest and client requests promptly and efficiently
  • Attend pre-shift meetings to discuss particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.


The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week. 

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Requisites

  • Service orientation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior hospitality or restaurant experience preferred.


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  • Customer service and cash handling experience preferred
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
