Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Sets up employee meal of the day according to Chef's guidelines.
  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set forth.
  • Restocks all items in the employee breakroom as needed throughout shift.
  • Cleans and maintains station and breakroom in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Ideal candidate will have prior prep cook experience in a food venue.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • English language and professional communications skills are required.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
  • Must have current CA food handler card

Physical aspects of the position include, but are not limited to:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
