Position Description

As Business Transient Sales Manager, you will be


  • Responsible for developing Corporate Transient market segments (National, Local Accounts, Consortia,) and achieving room night and revenue goals for all three segments.

  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed solicitation goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

  • Develop, Create and Maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum market share.

  • Identify and pursue prospective transient business from free market information, as well as information from purchased lead sources, analyzing historical and other statistical information (market segment, account mix goals), participate in conducting customer interviews and preparing customer call analysis report.

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the CRS system and GDS systems.

  • Maintain product knowledge at all times including all relevant rate structures and promotional offers.

  • Plan and execute sales trips in line with the Sales and Marketing plan.

  • Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customer representative confirming reservations by letter and drawing up contracts; sign for the hotel and obtain customer signature to close transaction.

  • Upon closing, coordinate and follow-up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of superior guest's services.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by procedural guidelines.

  • As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations.

  • Achieve established room nights and revenue as outlined by the agreed upon goals.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree and/ or 24 months as a Sales Manager, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Selling Skills at minimum above the industry average. Incumbents, who have not completed these sales techniques, should be well versed in prospecting, rate and contract negotiating, business planning and telephone sales.

  • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Creative marketing centric mindset .

  • Ability to analyze trends, develop, and execute appropriate action plans for one's own market.

  • Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and to delegate some tasks.

  • Desire to participate as part of a team.

  • Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.

  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
