Job Description

The Buffet runner and food runner is responsible for maintaining the buffet, including stocking and cleaning as well as running food prepared for a la carte service.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or equivalent.
    Restaurant or food service experience is a plus.
    Pleasant personality with the ability to communicate effectively with guests. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Stock all food for the current meal period while working hand in hand with the back of the house kitchen staff.
    Stock all proper china, glassware and silverware for the current meal period, making sure all items are presented neatly.
    Keep buffet and kiosks clean and neat during business hours while constantly replenishing, refilling and cleaning the counters and surrounding floors.
    Communicate with kitchen staff on business levels and food quality by ensuring that hot items remain hot and cold items remain cold.
    Reading kitchen tickets and delivering food to guests in a timely function
    Understanding the layout of the restaurant including table numbers and/or seat numbers
    Be familiar with all hotel/conference center amenities and other dining options.
    Maintain knowledge of what the kitchen has in stock and what we are capable of making upon request.
    Being knowledgeable about the food that is being served by understanding ingredients and possible allergies or dietary restrictions.
    Communicating directly with the food and beverage manager or supervisor prior to breaking down to ensure all guests have had ample dining time.
    Clean and restock all serving utensils and plates for the next meal period and checking out with the front of the house manager or supervisor before departing.
