The Beach Butler position reports directly to the Chef Concierge. This position transports guests and their beach gear (i.e. towels, chairs, surfboard, etc.) to/from beach area using a pedicab (pedal-operated tricycle). Keeps pool and cabana areas tidy and stocked. Responds to a wide variety of guest requests for special arrangements or services by accurately assessing the needs and making arrangements or providing recommendations. Gathers and provides information to guests about the property and surrounding area, including hotel amenities, local area attractions, transportation, business services, entertainment, tours, special event and activities. Provides special recommendations for special occasions and events. Up-sells the services, amenities and restaurants at the property. Resolves guest concerns and provides professional service to gain high level of guest confidence and satisfaction. Enters information into computer system, collects funds and runs necessary reports. Seeks opportunities to maximize revenue.

The team member frequently grasps objects. The team member regularly reaches by extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while performing the essential functions of the job. The team member frequently stoops and crouches. While performing the duties of the job the team member frequently uses fingers to enter data into computer or operate office equipment. The team member regularly talks when communicating with guests/callers. The team member regularly needs to hear voices while interacting with guests/callers. Many aromas and smells are present in the beach, pool, and other hotel areas. Balance is frequently required to prevent falling when riding the tricycle, and walking or standing while moving or carrying gear or equipment. The team member frequently pushes and pulls equipment. Lifting is regularly required to load, store and maintain beach gear. Exerts up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move equipment. Regularly requires pedaling a tricycle with up to 500 lbs. in passengers and beach gear. The team member is required to have close visual acuity to prepare newsletter articles and view a computer terminal. The team member is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned and to make general observations of facilities.
The team member is usually subject to environmental conditions found working outdoors and occasionally works indoors. Exposed to weather conditions such as wind, rain, cold and hot climate temperatures while working outside. The noise level is moderate. The team member is subject to hazards which includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving vehicles and electrical current found in office machinery. The team member is occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions such as perfumes, fumes, gases, odors, or dusts.
