Job Description
Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for a Ful -Time Bartender to work at our learning and conference centre, located in Scarborough, Ontario.
Bartenders are responsible for providing all guests at the hotel with an entertaining and enjoyable experience, through quality service, in the most efficient manner at all times in the preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders according to specified recipes and standards.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
•Perform complete bar setup, including ice, garnish, glassware, etc.
•Welcome and greet all customers in the bar in a courteous, helpful manner and by name.
•Ensure all customers have proper I.D. and are over 19 years of age.
•Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and deals with intoxicated guests.
•Know all drink recipes, wines by the glass, and menu and prices to effectively promote to guests.
•Perform duties in accordance with established company policies for drink size, recipe, and proper glassware.
•Enter all sales in POS without errors. 
•Must follow proper cash handling procedures, bar controls and inventory controls
•Assume responsibility for guest checks, cash register procedures, and completion of daily sales reconciliation report.
•Complete assigned side work and performs other duties as instructed by the Manager.
•Practice “clean as you go” techniques of service for the bar and lounge area.
•Table-side service in the lounge area during slow periods
•Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
•Maintain current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities, and services, events in the area, points of interest, and services in the area.
•Assist in the Health & Safety program by ensuring that section 28 of the OHSA and company/departmental health & safety policies and procedures are being followed
•May be required to perform additional and / or different responsibilities from those set forth above
Basic Qualifications:
•High school education, GED, or equivalent experience.
•Must have at least 2 years of previous bartending experience; experience in hospitality industry
•Smart Serve Certification is mandatory; refresher may be requested.
•Must meet Ontario’s minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Requires knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits as well as their preparation and presentation keeping updated on new and revised beverage recipes.
•Must have great organization skills, ability to multitask and provide quality and efficient service to all guests
•Experience with planning/organizing themed events for guests in the bar/lounge area, such as sports tournament, is an asset
•Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.
•Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in English.
•Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
•Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
•Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform.
•Dedicated to exceeding service standards and providing services and standards to the highest caliber.
•Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
•Bilingual skills (French/English) are a strong asset.
•Must have employment eligibility in Canada.
Physical requirements:
•Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
•Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. and work the majority of shift on feet.
