POSITION SUMMARY The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week. The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for daily supervision of the banquet staff, quality service, guest satisfaction and safety. In conjunction with Banquet management, ensure banquet services comply with proper food handling, policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations. Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management. Reports any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management.Complies with all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting. Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate. Ensures all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations. Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.

Ensure new associates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve job expectations. Evaluate the staff’s job performance and coach and counsel as necessary. Clearly communicate to associates the standards of performance and their role in contributing to individual and team success. Ensure all required training occurs including orientation, safety, fire, alcohol awareness, food handling and blood-borne pathogen. Ensure staff compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, standards and regulations. Insist on a work environment that is free from harassment.· Supervise set-up, food and beverage preparation and service to ensure compliance with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and catering procedures. Ensure optimal level of service, quality and hospitality.· Conduct banquet pre-function meeting and explain function particulars including guest and hotel expectations. Know the function menu and explain major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.· Supervise room set-up before function start time to ensure BEO directions are properly followed including table drapes, silverware setting, napkins and centerpieces. Ensure cleanliness of linen, silverware, glassware and public areas. Ensure banquet staff is ready to begin on time and according to plan. Supervise room breakdown at end of function.· Maintain contact with kitchen staff to ensure effective communication between food production and food service.· Ensure effective and continuous communication with meeting/function contacts and guests. Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters of significance to manager so that corrective measures may be taken.· Ensure guest checks are priced, written, and signed by the guest according to planned arrangements.· Calculate and prepare daily gratuities and payroll ensuring accurate, prompt reporting.· Supervise and monitor the maintenance/sanitation of Banquet areas and equipment to protect assets and ensure quality service.· Ensure completion of necessary inventory checks, product returns and month-end inventory reconciliation, as requested.· Supervise or conduct server training, either one-to-one or by group, as needed.· Monitor and control expenses.· On time and at work when scheduled, and in proper uniform.· Attend department meetings as scheduled.· Consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests and associates.· Comply with policies and procedures. Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures. Write shift reports including reports on any incidents of theft, accidents or injuries when assigned.· Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested.· Any other tasks / duties as requested by management.
