Asst Director of Revenue Management

Position Summary

Responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of the Revenue Management functions with detailed focus on Group Revenue Management including inventory strategy process as directed by DORM. Functions will include but not be limited to Transient and Group inventory management, ORS/ PMS functionality, 19 Day Weekly Forecasting, execution of rates and restrictions as directed, managing extranets and updating DMPE SSG rates and transient protected as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Management of Business Strategy – Leadership

  • Effectively communicate Loews Hotels recommended Revenue Management philosophies as they pertain to the home property
  • Understand and comply with Home Office Revenue Management initiatives and philosophies

Management of Business Strategy

  • Rate Calendar to be updated, analyzed and distributed to the Revenue Team daily
  • Execution of the next 365 date strategy as directed by DRM
  • Implementation of all recommended pricing strategies in Ideas/ORS
  • Monitors weekly Special Event dates (citywides, holidays, demand drivers)  once the ideal market mix has been established for maximization of revenues
  • Execution of the weekly 19 day forecast
  • Ensure completion of weekly Revenue Strategy Meeting packet
  • Preparation of monthly Sales Month End report
  • Completion and ownership of Group Forecast monthly for 30|60|90 Day and Horizon Projections
  • Lead weekly group pickup meeting and hold CMs and GRC accountable for follow-up
  • Communicate Groups in risk of attrition to CMs and SMs
  • Adjust Passkey and sell messages in ORS as needed to support selling strategy
  • Review Group turnovers from Sales Managers and make necessary adjustments in system based on history and pick-up. Ensure group contracts meet the minimum Food and Beverage Guidelines or have approval of deviation.
  • Work with DRM on sub-segmentation rate seasons / rate tiers
  • Manage third party extranets
  • Understanding of ORS Restrictions
  • Assist in rate loading process including submitting transient rate loading forms to Distribution
  • Working understanding of GDS systems
  • Attend and participate in business review discussions and analyses as required
  • Assist DRM with IDEAS implementation / usage
  • Manage Room Type Inventory in ORS/Delphi/Passkey based on internal and external demand to maximize Total Rooms Revenue
  • Maintain SSG/MAR rates, Transient Protect and Group Allotments in Delphi, and update on regular basis as defined by DRM
  • Work with DRM on Budget Process
  • Establish and communicate Hot and Need Dates
  • Oversee / Manage Group Coordinator and Rooms Control
  • Manage Group Cutoff Dates
  • Approve or deny Group requests to increase over block
  • Monitor and Communicate Group Issues that Affect Transient Strategies to DRM
  • Review Daily Booking Transaction recap and identify instances where SSG/MAR strategy is not being followed or group pickup has reached/exceeded contract
  • Daily monitoring of group and transient room inventory to ensure straight-line availability and the maximization of revenue potential for all room categories
  • Understand and interpret TravelClick and STR reporting
  • Manage systems and strategies for all segments, Group and Transient, in absence of DRM
  • Formulate Revenue Reports as requested by MD, DOM, DRM, and DCCM
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by DRM, MD or DOM
  • Comply with Home Office Revenue Strategies

Management of Business Strategy– Technical

  • Understand the working relationship between all systems related to room inventory.
  • Ensure that technical related questions relating to all systems related to room inventory are escalated to the correct support destination in a timely manner
  • Manual reporting as necessary for the purposes of analysis/feedback

Customer Service

  • Communicates effectively with other departments to allow operations to best provide “And More” service to guests

  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to the guests, management, and fellow employees and can interact professionally with all levels of staff, ranging from hourly employees to executives
  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be customer service oriented and have excellent hospitality skills
  • Must have excellent written and oral English communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Extensive knowledge of Ideas, Opera ORS & PMS, Delphi, Excel, SSRS reports, Synxis, and Passkey preferred
  • Proven understanding of restrictions, the reasoning behind them, and the ramifications of using each restriction type
  • Enjoys problem solving and has strong analytical skills
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize work load
  • Must be able to type 25 wpm
  • Previous Reservations/Front Desk experience preferred
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset

 

Qualification Standards

Education:  High School Diploma Required,   4 Year College Degree preferred.

Experience:  3+ Years Revenue Management Experience in a 3-5 Star property

Licenses or Certificates:  N/A
