Assist the General Manager in all departments in the effort to generate profit, meet or exceed budget expectations, and maintain operational and guest service standards.
Hire, train, counsel and motivate department personnel, perform payroll administration for department personnel, and conduct all department personnel performance appraisals.
Schedule personnel within budget guidelines to assure adequate staffing.
Process Accounts Receivable and monitor the department budget.
Develop department employee attitude of attentiveness and anticipation of guest needs.
Perform hotel forecast.
Check all daily reports and respond accordingly to findings.
Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled.
Ensure proper delivery of guest services as directed by the General Manager.
Assist the General Manager in resolving guest complaints concerning the front office.
Administer the hotel's direct bill accounts, as directed by the General Manager.
Monitor posting of guest charges to minimize lost revenue.
Monitor room availability and utilize FOSSE and MARSHA to ensure the hotel is maximizing room revenue.
Update FOSSE and MARSHA availability from cancellations and arrival and departure date changes.
Supervise the handling of reservations.
Ensure that an effective cash control system is in place and that all credit card and check cashing policies are followed.
Administer key control for the departments.
Ensure proper procedures for guest safety deposit boxes.
Educate department employees on Emergency Procedures.
Establish effective front office communication and information system through logs, department meetings, and coaching and counseling.
Oversee GSS scores for the entire hotel and prepare action plans with Department leaders for improvement.
Perform Daily Smart Starts.
Maintain the weekly PIC schedule.
Utilize hotel daily topic calendar.
Process eBonus when applicable.
Ensure cash handling procedures are being followed.
Create employee engagement activities and reward recognition for outstanding efforts by staff.
Establish the protocol for recognizing regular guests of the property.
Ensure QA standards are enforced.
Assist General Manager in any other departmental efforts, including Rooms, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Human Resources.
