Assistant General Manager
Location: US - WI - Milwaukee
We are looking for an energetic and passionate individual to join our team as Assistant General Manager. Our nationally branded property is highly ranked in the Milwaukee market on TripAdvisor, and in the top 10% of brand on multiple performance metrics.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record in the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage areas.
Our Assistant General Manager leads and motivates the team through hands on leadership from the front. We strongly believe in developing every staff member to their fullest potential.
This position requires varying days of work and hours will be split between first and second shift to personally touch all aspect of the guest experience as well as develop and mentor all staff.
Having an amazing can-do attitude is the key to anyone’s success in this position. In our fast-paced hotel environment every day is different and hold different opportunities for success. This position is the stepping stone to a General Manager position within our company as expertise and accomplishments are obtained.
Front Office-Experience and understanding of all shifts of the front office. Ability to develop and implement new policies and procedures to better improve the guest experience.
Housekeeping-Experience and understanding of the guest room attendant, laundry attendant, public area attendant, laundry attendant, and housekeeping supervisor position. The ability to maintain labor and brand deep clean standards while improving cleanliness and efficiency.
Food and Beverage-Knowledge of front and back of the house operations of a small food and beverage operation with function space.
Human Resources-Ability to develop and mentor all staff members to their highest level of capabilities. Recruiting, interviewing, trainings, and development of new team members. Ongoing coaching and counselling of struggling team members. In the unfortunately event after all other options have been attempted terminations.
Accounting-Ensuring all cash handling procedures are being followed and enhancing the existing and developing the new. Completing deposits on a regular basis.
Revenue Management-Understanding property rate strategies and stay controls.
Sales and Marketing-Being involved in the community. Conducting site tours and nurturing existing business relationships to ensure their ongoing satisfaction as well as growth.
The Assistant General Manager will work very closely with and under the direction of our General Manager who has moved the properties position significantly in the recent years.
