The Career Opportunity: Assistant Director of Security


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Maintains quality control standards and forwarding of all reports and activity logs to Director of Security.

*Maintain the staffing and training of shift supervisors.

*Monitor the performance of supervisors, dispatch procedures, floor patrols, checklist inspections, etc.

*Assist the Director of Security in planning programs with a view toward reducing losses, and aid in formulating procedures for securing hotel/guest employee property.

*Assist the Director of Security in organizing the Security Department to accomplish the main task of providing safety and security for hotels guests and employees, thus staffing of personnel during the hours in the areas of greatest need.

* To assist the Director of Security in developing personnel that Is the best qualified to accomplish the aims of the department, thus constant evaluation of their assigned tasks, coaching, counseling and providing feedback is critical.

*During the absence of the director, direct the activities of security personnel during the visitation of dignitaries, important conventions and special investigations.

*Assist the Director of Security in maintaining a liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, insurance carriers, and other agencies whose good will is beneficial to the hotel.

*Assist the Director of Security in organizing and conducting CPR classes, insuring the entire security staff and appropriate employees outside the department maintain current CPR certifications.

*Develop and maintain an orderly filling system for all security related materials to include reports, logs, inspection checklists, detainments, arrests, etc., for prompt retrieval of information and trend projections.

*To become directly involved in investigations and monitor initial reports and follow-ups.

*To initiate training in emergency procedures, technical equipment, investigations and report writing as necessary for officers and supervisors.

*To direct the training of security personnel in regards to duties, rules and regulations, on a continuing basis. Also maintain complete files.

*To be able to fill in for supervisors when needed (vacations, sick days, etc.) and work the floors on a regular basis with officers and supervisors.

*Maintain weekly work schedules of supervisors, officers, vacation requests, sick days, personal days, etc.

*Ensure that the security staff maintains a degree of professionalism at all times consistently on all three(3) shifts.

*Directly supervise the training of all supervisors and officers to insure the thoroughness and complete understanding of all topics covered by administering periodic tests, drills, etc., and positively critiquing their performance.

*Maintain, along with security supervisors, management coverage on all three(3) shifts.

*Acts as departmental training coordinator.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

•College degree is preferred

•Must be fluent in English and have excellent written, reading and verbal skills.

•Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, come of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.

•Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.

•Must have the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently is required.

•Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate people are required.
