Job Description:

To provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering and to assist the Director of Engineering in the operational aspect of the Engineering Department.

Responsibilities:

* Assist the Director of Engineering in the full upkeep of the preventative maintenance, including the keeping of logs on work done, scheduling and the assignment of projects and other related tasks.
* Assist the Director of Engineering Services in the procurement of supplies and the issuance of purchase orders.
* Maintain up-to-date meter readings for heat, light, and power records.
* Respond to guest requests. Oversee the Synergy work order program and follow up on staff assignments.
* Work with the Engineering staff on all shifts and prioritize their work assignments.
* Processes payroll and is responsible for scheduling in line with the monthly labor budget.
* Monitors the department's monthly budget and ensures all spending is within limits.
* Responsible for conducting staff training as prioritize by the DOE. Assume the full responsibility for the Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
* Must be able to learn and comply with departmental SOPs and guidelines.
* Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation, including all safety SOPs.
* Be familiar with Cal OSHA and City of Los Angeles building code and requirements.

Qualifications:

* Must have extensive HVAC and mechanical experience.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
* 5 years of hotel engineering management experience.
* Previous experience at a 4 or 5 diamond resort hotel preferred.
* Experience managing 10 or more associates.
