Area Revenue & Sales Manager

Position Description

Here we grow again! Our current Area Revenue and Sales professional is being promoted to two hotels that are currently under construction and scheduled to open in Q1, 2017. This is an excellent opportunity for a savvy Revenue Manager who has the experience and/or the desire to also over see the group sales component for two hotels. Our ideal candidate will have local market experience in both revenue and sales management and preferably with the Best Western and Choice (Comfort Inn) Brands. We anticipate this position starting near the beginning of February 2017

BASIC PURPOSE: To maximize rooms revenue and yield penetration through proper management of rooms inventories through analytical and technical knowledge of hotel reservations systems and front office systems of multiple hotels.

Supervise and control the Group Sales' operations to achieve customer satisfaction and meet/exceed sales, revenue and profit objectives.

ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: Position is responsible for developing and recommending sales strategies, room mix and pricing. Responsible for reservations systems, forecasting and reporting. Negotiate transient room rate contracts. Position is also responsible for developing and recommending a group sales marketing plan and budget,.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Include but are not limited to:

Develop, implement, monitor and control sales strategies; conduct sales strategy meetings to ensure the proper mix of group/transient guests while maximizing occupancy and room revenue.

Compile data, analyze trends, develop accurate weekly and period forecasts and communicate to all departments to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to provide quality of guest services while minimizing expenses.

Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring and controlling annual budget and marketing plans to assist in meeting/ exceeding the overall hotel goals.

Monitor, control and communicate inventory levels and room and rate restrictions to meet business objectives.

Negotiate rates for transient accounts to ensure the right mix of sales to maximize room revenue.

Establishes, measures, monitors and effectively evaluates processes, polices, and procedures as well as supervise group coordinators.

Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, referrals, property tours, networking, etc.); maximize room revenue to meet/exceed goals.

Supervise Group Sales to attract, retain and motivate the employees; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend discipline and termination as appropriate.

Recommend, assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling the group sales annual budget and marketing plan; analyze competition, market trends and customer needs and comments; prepare and review forecasts, period and reports and various sales and rate reports to continually assess the group's productivity against the budget, plan and market place.

Implement Interstate Hotels & Resorts (IHR) company programs (IHR/Franchisor) and direct the operations in a manner consistent with IHR's policies and procedures to meet/exceed budgeted room night, average rate and revenue goals while ensuring quality customer service.

Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase our market share.

Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
