Job Description

Job OverviewThis position is responsible for processing all payments in accordance with established accounting standards. S/he will reconcile daily statements and month-end balancing of receivables.Essential Functions
  • Reconcile cash payments received with each with billing statement and post payment in system
  • Prepare commission payments for travel agent/sites
  • Process A&P charges and compiles weekly logs
  • Process A&G charges and compiles weekly logs
  • Audit all postings and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Perform credit checks on clients requesting direct billing
  • Audit and update city ledger accounts
  • Send out billing statements and maintain files

Job Requirements

SUMMARY:  The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for preparing monthly rental incomes statements for all units, posting all expenses and checks to the proper accounts, update all unit and owner information into Springer Miller, and answer any questions concerning a rental unit’s account along with general account receivable duties. 
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice! 
  Essential job FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepare monthly rental income statements
  • Prepare the monthly check run and bank drafts
  • Accurately post checks
  • Complete all data entry for month end closing
  • Maintaining units/features in resort software
  • Must be an ambassador our resources and be available to answer all guest billing questions
  • Assist in all accounts receivable functions including billing, preparing outlet reports, posting payments, internet-company billing, and wholesale golf billing.
  • Handle guest inquiries courteously, efficiently, and promptly. 
  • Follow-up both verbally and in writing, on all past-due accounts to insure timely collection of accounts receivable
  • Assist in house bank audits
  • Interact with all outlets to ensure that guests’ billing issues are resolved properly
  • Answering the phone positively and with professional phone etiquette.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Will be cross trained in other areas of accounting
  • Maintain an impeccable grooming appearance and work uniform
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must have Microsoft Office background and be able to learn resort software
  • Perform other various tasks as needed for Accounting management
  • Perform all activities in a professional manner and in accordance with company policy.
  • Uphold the resort’s credit and cash handling procedures
Other Duties/Responsibilities
  • Consistently acting as a role model for all Wild Dunes Team Members
  • Report all safety hazards and suspicious person or activities to Security
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and their role in assisting during these times
  • Adhere to strict department and resort attendance policies
  • Maintain an impeccable grooming appearance and work uniform
  • Attend all monthly and required resort meetings
Team Member is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned. 
  eXPERIENCE & eDUCATION:Previous experience in an accounting office is preferred but not necessary.  Technical proficiency in Microsoft applications is required.  High school diploma or GED required; some college course work in Accounting is preferred.
