Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas. Memorial Hermann Southwest is part of a large healthcare system within the Houston area. Memorial Hermann Southwest offers "At Your Request" room service and serves approximately 350 patients per meal each day. In addition to feeding our patients, the sous chef and food production is responsible for the food served in the cafés, catering and physicians dining.
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen, implementing production processes, menu planning, catering, managing food and labor costs and has overall responsibility for all aspects of HACCP. This role reports to the Executive Chef and will oversee menu development for all dining areas including patient dining, catering, and retail.
The ideal candidate with have experience in :
*training/mentoring for the cooks, line servers, and utility staff.
*supervising and supporting production functions of kitchen employees
*motivating employees to continually improve performance
*follow and direct HACCP - Food Safety - Physical Safety Programs, and manage cost controls
*Bring innovation and creativity to culinary offerings in catering area's
This role is a hands-on leader in the kitchen and will have food production responsibilities.
Leads food preparation at one station of a foodservice operation (i.e., salads, soups). May supervise less than two full time employees.
