Sodexo Health Care Services provides essential and facilities services to hospitals across the country. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Area General Manager in Houston at CHI St Luke's Baylor Medical Center. This position will be responsible for directing the Food and Nutrition Services for the main medical center, and supporting multiple healthcare accounts within this System in the Houston metro area. Sodexo provides best in class food and nutrition services for patient dining, retail café operations and catering services for this healthcare system. 


As the leader of our Food Service Team, the Senior Area General Manager will be responsible for managing the department operations and financials including on-site patient services and café, physician’s dining and catering services. Position will also be responsible for fully integrating all the system accounts in the Houston area. The selected candidate must have stellar customer service skills as the client/patient experience is crucial to this role. Must have strong leadership and proven management skills as this position requires a take charge, hands-on individual that is easily able to lead, develop, train and transition employees. Candidates must have strong financial and budget responsibility experience. Solid knowledge of Sodexo Systems and processes including At Your Request strongly preferred. Prior experience with new unit openings including cafe design facilitation and project management skills preferred.


The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for driving and improving the patient experience. The Senior Area General Manager will need to implement Sodexo programs, policies and procedures while managing 175+ FTEs and a management team of 10. This position will report directly to the District Manager. 


Responsibilities include:


 Implementing and maintaining Sodexo programs and practices

 Ensuring Sodexo standards for employee training are in place and creating a culture of teamwork and loyalty

 Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, such as food and physical safety, and menu systems

 Coordinating department functions and standards with other managers

 Ensuring client needs and goals are met

 Being able to drive change

 Client communication

 Special projects


Qualifications for this position include:


 Proven ability to meet and exceed annual operating budget

 GM level experience in a high volume food operation; healthcare environment preferred

 Proven ability to motivate and inspire staff and participate on a management team

 Computer literacy to achieve and maintain competence in web-driven Sodexo programs

 Full HACCP knowledge, and Sodexo ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire

 Prior food service management and client retention experience in a health-care environment preferred

Position Summary

Top in-unit leadership position for a system of accounts. Single point of contact for client liaison to drive and support the expectations of Sodexo Divisions while supporting our mission and values. This position would support system/multi-site business that in total is greater than $10 million in managed volume (mega accounts) with one or more core services, ES, Eng, Food. The position would support the selling strategy of targeting large system sales.
