Unit Description

Sodexo has 2 opportunities available in Orange, CA for an Environmental Services Custodial Manager II for UCI Medical Center! UC Irvine Medical Center is an Acute Care facility which serves the Orange County region. UCI is a 422 bed hospital and trauma center. The unit operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week with an hourly workforce speaking predominately Spanish. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a Hospital environment. This role is vital to the success of a very high profile diverse account. This is a 2nd Shift with rotating weekends that requires flexibility some weekend and Holidays may be required.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge of Environmental Services operations in the Health-care / Hospital industry as an EVS Manager, Sodexo programs and systems (TRAKKAR, UOS, Gold Checks, etc) as well as customer and employee relationship skills.  Strong project management, analytical, communications and computer (Excel, Word and Power-Point) skills are needed for this role in conjunction with a comprehensive understanding of Sodexo’s corporate and CARES culture. Must have proven ability in:

-Positive interaction with clients

-Follow up and communication

-Handling multiple priorities

-Previous management experience Custodial experience in a Hospital environment is preferred 

-Spanish speaking is a plus

 

The “Hands-On” Manager primarily handles day to day operational functions and ensures unit level, corporate, employee relations, safety, training, and unit operating systems compliance. Managing in a strong union environment is preferred. 

 

Required: Good working knowledge of state & federal employment law; solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; good communication and presentation skills; detailed oriented, and well organized.

Position Summary

Supervises hourly staff providing custodial service to client. Responsible for work force planning, Quality Assurance training and administrative functions for designated area. Typically reports to General Manager or Operations Manager.
