Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking anEnvironmental Services/Custodial Manager for Northwest Community Hospital for aday shiftopportunity (7:00am start time).  This is one of the few strong, independent organizations left in the Chicagoland market with over 27 locations and healthcare partnerships.  The main campus serves the northwest suburbs and surrounding communities with an average daily census of 300 patients. This position will be responsible for the daily operational success of the 1st shift environmental services team, consisting of 70 housekeepers and floor techs. The 1st shift Manager will work with a Sodexo hourly supervisor to accomplish the day to day tasks assigned to them and report directly to the Sodexo Environmental Services Operations Manager, and together will work to exceed the expections of our client on the main campus only, which covers aprox. 1.2 million cleanable square feet daily.  A strong background in customer service and managing large work groups is vital.  Overall, will need to motivate hourly staff and maintain cleaning quality to a very high level. Driving client engagement and patient/employee satisfaction is essential for the success of this role. Exceptional communication, unit financial, interpersonal and technical skills are necessary.  A background in housekeeping, hotels, custodial support, or hospitality is ideal.  The ability to be bilingual in speaking Spanish and/or Hindi would assist in managing this workforce.

Position Summary

Supervises hourly staff providing custodial service to client. Responsible for work force planning, Quality Assurance training and administrative functions for designated area. Typically reports to General Manager or Operations Manager.
