Sodexois seeking aChef Managerfor Covenant Shores, Mercer Island, (Seattle) WA. This is Seattle’s Premier Retirement Community located on the shores of scenic Lake Washington with nearby Seattle just eight miles west and Bellevue even closer to the east. This 350 Residents Continuing Care Retirement Community has two main kitchens and six dining locations that include meals for; assisted living, skilled nursing, memory support, and rehab services.
Position oversees our health care kitchen on campus and 4 dining rooms for100Residents in; assistant living, skilled nursing, and memory care. Position is responsible for food production, will also work closely with the Clinical Nutrition Manager to oversee meal service in multiple dining rooms. Catering experience to deliver special events is important for the success in this position. Position will supervise, train, and schedule 15 employees, will monitor HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance, and will work in food production systems for inventory management and on-line ordering. Position works to achieve exceptional Resident satisfaction of Five Star Dining Services through employee development and program enhancements.
Ideal Candidate Skills / Certification:
Culinary Degree / Trade School Certificate and Servsafe Certificate
Fine dining experience in Restaurants / Country Clubs
Ability to manage inventory for a budget of 1 million in financial volume
HR skills to train & develop culinary food production teams
Computer skills; food management systems
Experience with high volume food production and quality standards
Menu planning for resident dining and catering
Dynamic leadership skills for outcomes that exceed client and resident expectations
Schedule will vary with rotating weekends and holidays

Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to General Manager.
