33,000 Hospitality Jobs Added in June
According to ADP’s June National Employment Report, the leisure and hospitality industry added 33,000 jobs in June, roughly the same as May. This is a 200% increase in hospitality job openings compared to this time last year. ADP reports that overall 177,000 jobs were added in June, 12% higher than June of 2017.
The BLS Job Report from June revealed little change from the previous month in the number of hospitality jobs added stayed about the same, while the overall unemployment rate for the hospitality sector is 5.7%, nearly two full points above the national unemployment rate. The BLS also reports that the rate of monthly hires for the hospitality industry in 2018 has been steadily increasing each month.
