New "glamping" resort opens in Utah
Interest in “glamping,” or glamourous camping, shows no sign of slowing down, as evidenced by the expansion of adventure hospitality ompany UnderCanvas’ newest location offering, opening in Utah this month.
Spread across on 196 acres, just steps from Zion National Park, UnderCanvas Zion’s safari-style resort will house over fifty luxury, canvas tents in a variety of accommodation-level options.
A new Stargazer tent is set to debut and boasts an overhead viewing window atop a king size bed so campers can gaze up at the night sky’s constellations in comfort.
“The custom-designed tent inspired us to give the Zion camp some extra attention to detail. The interiors and overall camp experience have been completely reimagined to exceed our guests’ expectations,” says co-founder, Jacob Dusek.
Additional luxe amenities include ultra-comfortable mattresses, Jasper and Madison-designed pine and fir beds, in-suite massages, and an on-site, gourmet Embers restaurant. Dining selections are created using locally sourced ingredients and include smoked pork belly sandwich, brisket barbacoa, BBQ Boar ribs, desert Goddess salad, and sides like baked beans and Jalapeño cornbread. After a long day exploring the outdoors, glampers can relax and roast marshmallows around a sunken biofuel firepit made from recycled and sandblasted steel and rest on pillows made from vintage African Indigo Textiles.
Rates start at $299/per night for deluxe, double-occupancy. The company also operates sister properties in Moab, Yellowstone, and Glacier National parks.
